Thurs.
I think my class schedule is about to be settled today. I was waitlisted for two of my four classes and as the deadline to add/drop classes approached, I was getting nervous about whether I would get in to either one. Luckily I got into the class I wanted, the European novel, and today is the first day of my practical criticism decal. That means I can stop going to astronomy! I’m dropping that shit! I’ve never been a science person and I’m almost done with my breadth classes (the gen ed requirements at Berkeley) so I’ll have time to take astro later.
After I drop astro, I’m going to have the best schedule ever. I’ll only have class for an hour a day on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be more packed but I won’t have class till 2 pm. Nothing to complain about.
My apartment is getting better and better decorated. Well, my room is, that is. I live with three boys and they don’t care about the aesthetics of our living room very much. I got a couple of paintings at Urban Ore, which is this ginormous thrift store type warehouse in Berkeley that has everything you could ever want in used/broken form. So yeah, we have this 1970’s picture of a pink bird, an orange bird, and a blue rabbit and then some drawing of this 19th century gentleman, and a old family portrait of a Chinese couple that is unrelated to anyone. I tried to make my room more pleasing to the eye, I dare say. I got a woven carpet because we have hard wood floors. And I hung up a few of my own drawings, pictures of friends and family, a Gauguin print, and a huge mirror. This place is starting to feel like home now.
