moving time is shoe time is birthday time?

I finished my last final on Tuesday and my mom came here on Wednesday to help me move and get settled throughout the week as I transition from a dorm to a real actual house. I am so glad to be leaving this place! I’m subletting my friend’s room in a house with 8 people while I take art history this summer. The house is old, narrow, squeeky, has three stories, and smells like the woods.

My mom being here and it being my birthday in a couple weeks both warrant shopping. I got three very necessary pairs of shoes to replenish my badly worn collection. These will be staples in my summer wardrobe for sure.

Jeffrey Campbell flats for every day wear (so what if they’re pink fake python skin and have gold zippers and ruffles?? Wanna mess?) I could only find a picture of them in brown, sadly.

Teal leather t-strap sandals by Frye. The only other sandals I have are studded, black leather gladiators and I’m simply not always in the mood to dress like I belong to a motorcycle gang every time the weather is warm. These are a more toned down alternative but the color is still interesting and the leather is quite durable.

And, finally, my new favorite pair of shoes… I put a picture up earlier today of them on my feet but here’s another one. Black suede lace-up wedges from Aldo. These are the most comfortable heels I’ve ever walked in! I’m not normally much of a wedges girl, but these are pretty slender so they don’t look too clunky for my taste. They make you instantly look nice since they’re heels and you can walk in them with as much agility as in sneakers (almost). Guhhh… drooooool.

My new shoe philosophy (shoelosophy? eh? eh?) is to scour endlessly and tirelessly for the most detailed/crazy/creative yet comfortable shoes. This is an incredibly lofty endeavor but I figure that if I exert the initial effort, it will save me countless of outfit planning problems for subsequent lazy days. Sometimes it’s really hard to try to come up with clever outfit every day when you have limited resources and are going to class, but I’m hoping I can save myself some mental effort by wearing something comfortable paired with shoes that are fierce as fuck. Effortless style in the future= painstakingly meticulous purchases now.
